Support for relaunches / moves / migrations

To make sure that Google does not banish the new page or domain directly to the nimbus (page 2), you should invest a few dollars in such support.

Even an in-house SEO team often loses the thread and sometimes overlooks the obvious, simply because they have been staring at the new page for months.

Checklist: Do I need relaunch support?

You don't need me if:
  • You use a WordPress system with 5 subpages
  • Technically nothing is customizable
I can support you if:
  • You are planning a major relaunch
  • You have capable, willing developers
  • There is at least a lead time of 2 weeks

Components of my relaunch support

Structural analysis

How is the current site structured and what should the new one look like? Is there any need for optimization? The earlier you get an SEO on board, the easier it is to identify and eliminate structural challenges and potential. Of course, I also check and crawl your staged server to avoid performance and crawling problems in advance.

Forwarding

The core of every relaunch is the list of 301 redirects. I make sure that every page is assigned a new, suitable URL.

Keyword cannibalization

Once the structure and the URLs for the 301 list have been scrutinized, URLs that cannibalize each other often become apparent. I provide recommendations on how to summarize the URLs in order to use the SEO power more effectively.

Status quo of the Google Index

The complete Google index is also analyzed, there is always some nonsense there and can be removed and forwarded in the course of the relaunch.

Livegang and monitoring

When going live, you should take a closer look at your server logs and monitor all possible 300, 400 and 500 codes. In the coming weeks you'll see the first ranking jumps, which you should keep an eye on.

When should I take care of the relaunch?

Please do not contact me one day before the relaunch, especially if your developers are no longer able or willing to make any adjustments.

A relaunch is not a matter of a few hours and I can't spontaneously conjure 20 working hours out of my sleeve in the next twelve hours.

Who does the whole thing?

That would be me, Ruslan. SEO Freelancer from beautiful Cologne Ehrenfeld.

For over a decade I have been creating SEO audits for job portals, universities, e-commerce stores, agencies and sometimes SMEs.

Frequently asked questions about SEO relaunches

Many things can go wrong during a relaunch or domain transfer - from lost traffic to technical problems. With targeted support, you can make sure that Google loves your new site and doesn't send it to page 2. I'll help you maintain your rankings and tap into new SEO potential.
Comprehensive relaunch support includes structural analysis of the new site, setting redirects, avoiding cannibalization and support during the go-live. I take a look at your staged server in advance to prevent problems from arising in the first place.
The earlier, the better! Ideally, you should get an SEO on board before the first draft has been created. This way, structural challenges can be identified early on and tackled directly. A lead time of at least two weeks is advisable.
I take a close look at your site, crawl the staged server and identify performance and crawling problems before they go live. This means you are well prepared and technical stumbling blocks are avoided.
The job is not quite done yet. After going live, I monitor the performance of the new site closely and make further adjustments if necessary. This ensures that the rankings remain stable and new opportunities are exploited.
Not necessarily. If you run a small WordPress system with just a few subpages and hardly any technical adjustments are necessary, you may be able to get by without one. However, if you are planning a major relaunch or migration, the investment is definitely worth it.
